An official Master's degree programme of the universities of Camerino and Turin

Two state-run Italian universities founded the programme more than 10 years ago and have refined it ever since. The professors of Camerino and Turin teach, and the universities hold the final examination and award the Master's degree with 120 ECTS.

Why a hyaluronic acid course

Why a specialised hyaluronic acid course pays off

Hyaluronic acid fillers are among the most requested treatments in aesthetic medicine. At the same time, your patients' expectations are rising — and with them the demand for sound, thorough advice.

A structured hyaluronic acid course combines anatomical knowledge with proven injection techniques and a clear treatment concept. This lets you achieve natural-looking results, keep complications low and work with confidence from the start, instead of trying out individual techniques. At the same time, you extend your treatment offering on a well-founded professional basis.

Course content

What you learn in the hyaluronic acid course

The course combines three areas that interact in everyday treatment: from anatomy through product selection to injection technique.

Anatomical foundations for safe injections

Without precise knowledge of facial anatomy, the risk of side effects increases. This block creates the basis to place fillers precisely, compensate for volume loss, preserve a natural facial expression and model the face in a targeted way.

  • Course of important vessels and nerves in the face
  • Differences between the tissue layers of dermis, subcutis and deep compartments
  • age-related changes in facial structures
  • Risk regions and safe injection points

Properties and differences of hyaluronic acid fillers

Not every filler is suitable for every indication. You learn to classify hyaluronic acid products professionally and to justify your product choice clearly to your patients.

  • Viscosity and elasticity for regions such as lips, cheeks and chin
  • Cohesivity and projection for contouring or a moisture boost
  • the appropriate injection layer and recommended technique per product

Injection techniques and treatment planning

What matters is not only the where, but also the how. In hands-on practice you develop a systematic approach for reproducible, harmonious results.

  • Needle and cannula technique with their respective advantages and disadvantages
  • linear retrograde technique, fanning technique and depot technique depending on the region and goal
  • dosage, layering and building a concept across several sessions

Application areas

Typical application areas in the filler course

The course covers the indications that are most frequently requested in practice.

Volume building and contouring

The focus is on improving proportions without making the face look altered.

  • Building cheek and cheekbone volume
  • Contouring the jawline and chin
  • Balancing asymmetric areas

Lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid

Lip corrections require experience and a fine aesthetic sense. You learn to take the individual anatomy into account.

  • Lip augmentation tailored to the individual anatomy
  • Emphasising the contour rather than pure volume

Treating typical signs of ageing

Beyond volume loss, this is about structural weakness and hydration. The result is an approach that harmonises the facial structure rather than merely filling it.

  • Treating nasolabial and marionette lines
  • gentle support of midface projection
  • improving skin quality with suitable techniques

Safety

Safety, complication management and patient information

A serious course includes handling side effects and complications. This knowledge strengthens patient safety in everyday treatment and confidence in your work.

  • Recognising and treating haematomas, swelling and irregularities
  • Procedure in case of suspected vascular compromise
  • Use of hyaluronidase to dissolve misplacements
  • Documentation and informing your patients
  • structured patient history and consideration of contraindications
  • discussing realistic goals and treatment plans
  • sensible design of aftercare and follow-up appointments

Target audience

Who is the hyaluronic acid course for?

The course is aimed at doctors and dentists as well as other legally authorised health professionals who want to add filler treatments to their range of services or deepen them. Both newcomers and experienced practitioners benefit: the foundations are built up in a structured way, existing knowledge is updated and deepened in hands-on case discussions. In the practical sessions you also have the opportunity to practise on your own model.

From graduates for future students

What graduates say about the Master's

Four colleagues from different specialties share their experience of the programme.

Suitable for beginners and advanced practitioners alike. Our cohort was a very mixed group, from doctors who had just sat their final exams to specialists from a wide range of disciplines.

Dr. med. (it) Majdi Wattad

Anesthesiologist

Well organised, plenty of theory, but also a great deal of hands-on practice. I know of no other training that comes close to conveying this much knowledge of aesthetic medicine.

Dr. med. Kostas Michael

Surgeon

Finally I could find all my missing tricks and knowledge in aesthetic medicine field with this master program. The program makes me feel confident to practice aesthetic medicine within all subjects of non surgical aesthetics and surrounded by evidence based knowledge. Since I come from abroad the staff has been very helpful in managing the required documents for the credentials and visa issues.

Dr. med. Husam

Dentist

I'm very satisfied. The professors take a great deal of time to answer questions or to demonstrate treatment techniques. In two years you learn so much of what aesthetic medicine has to offer.

Dr. med. Yvonne Polydorou

General practitioner

Long-term value

How you benefit from the hyaluronic acid course in the long term

The value does not end with the course day. You gain a conceptual understanding as well as sound knowledge and practical skills that you can transfer to different patient types and age groups. You learn to assess individual wishes realistically, to avoid over-correction, and to develop long-term treatment strategies aimed at preserving and harmonising a natural facial expression.

The combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on content creates a solid foundation on which you can build further offerings in aesthetic medicine.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about the hyaluronic acid course

Answers to the questions we receive most often about the hyaluronic acid course.

Are practical exercises in a hyaluronic acid course worthwhile?

Yes. Alongside the theoretical basis, a high proportion of practice is important so that you can apply injection techniques with confidence and develop a feel for tissue, dosage and instrument handling.

How long should a hyaluronic acid course last at a minimum?

A format that leaves enough time for anatomy, product training, treatment planning, complication management and practical exercises makes sense. In the Master's programme you have two years for this and build a reproducible routine.

Is a hyaluronic acid course also worthwhile for experienced practitioners?

Yes. Experienced practitioners also benefit from structured feedback, updated expertise and new techniques to further improve treatment quality and safety.

What prerequisites should I bring to a hyaluronic acid course?

You should have a medical qualification and the legal authorisation to carry out injectable treatments within your profession. On this basis, you apply the techniques you learn properly and responsibly.

How do I reach the premises in Cologne?

The premises in Cologne are easy to reach by train (main station a 10-minute taxi ride away, Deutz station a 5-minute taxi ride) and by car (car park directly opposite). Cologne/Bonn Airport and Düsseldorf Airport are also not far away.

Anything else can be clarified in a free consultation with our student advisors.
